Under pressure from patients complaining about having to queue for appointments, the surgery introduced an appointment only system in 1995.
Over the years the system has changed to try to suit the times, but with surgeries having to take back more patients that would normally be looked after in hospital and successive governments promoting patients to see a GP about bad plumbing, leaking roofs, boyfriends leaving, the system is creaking at best.
Now, our number one complaint is access. Llynfi Surgery doctors take these complaints very seriously and is constantly striving to improve access.
Over the next few months, the surgery is conducting a major review of the way it works and will endeavour to modify the appointment system so nobody has to ring back because all the appointments are full.
Also the surgery is committed to replace 0844 number as soon as they are out of contract with the company that provides this number and replace it with a local STD call.
